Evette was elected as South Carolina’s 93rd Lieutenant Governor in 2018, marking a historic achievement as the first female Republican to hold the position. Before her election, she founded and led Quality Business Solutions, Inc. (QBS), a successful payroll and HR services company based in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Under her leadership, QBS grew into one of the nation’s fastest-growing small businesses and gained recognition as a top workplace in the state. Evette's business acumen earned her multiple awards, such as the ATHENA Leadership Award® and recognition from She Leads America in 2024. As Lieutenant Governor, Evette has leveraged her business experience to boost South Carolina’s small business ecosystem and attract new companies to the state. She has championed public-private partnerships and brought attention to local nonprofits, emphasizing their contributions to communities. Evette’s focus extends to early childhood education and reading, and she actively supports school choice and technical education as alternative pathways to success. In 2024, she launched the “Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders” initiative to help young people develop essential job skills through early employment opportunities. Evette is also passionate about protecting South Carolina’s natural resources and ensuring community safety. She co-founded the annual “Grab A Bag SC” cleanup campaign with PalmettoPride and raised awareness for flood prevention through the SC7 Expedition. Evette is a strong advocate for military and law enforcement, recognizing their role in safeguarding South Carolina families. She also serves on the boards of the St. Francis Foundation and the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO), contributing to her ongoing commitment to public service and community leadership.
